Everything You Need to Know About Aftermarket Gauges

February 18, 2022/by carmel

Adding aftermarket gauges to your car can give you a ton of information about what’s going on inside the engine. This is great for preventative maintenance, as well as just plain looking cool. In this blog post, we’ll discuss the different types of gauges available, and what each one does. We’ll also go over how to install them in your car, and some tips on keeping them in good condition.

With the right tools and a little bit of patience, you can install aftermarket gauges on your car in no time. To get started, we recommend gathering all of the necessary supplies before beginning the installation process. Make sure that everything is within reach so that you don’t have to run back and forth between two different areas just because something was forgotten.

What aftermarket gauges are there?

There are lots of aftermarket gauges you can add to your car. Here are some of our favorites.

Oil Pressure Gauge

Most cars have the ability to measure oil pressure, but they don’t display it on the dashboard. If you want to know more about what’s going on inside your engine, an aftermarket gauge can give you that information. It’s a good idea to get one if your car doesn’t already have one built into the dashboard. It can help you keep track of how much oil is in the engine and whether or not it needs to be changed regularly.

Oil Temperature Gauge

The temperature gauge on your car’s dashboard usually only measures coolant, but an aftermarket one can tell you what’s really going on inside your engine by measuring oil temperature instead. By doing this, it will give you a better idea of whether or not your car needs to be serviced because the oil is too hot.

Water Temperature Gauge

A water temperature gauge can tell you what’s going on inside your engine by measuring coolant instead of just air outside like most cars do. It’s important to keep track of the coolant temperature, because if it gets too hot, it can damage your engine.

Boost Gauge

A boost gauge measures how much pressure is being put on the engine. This is a great tool for understanding how well your car is performing and whether or not you need to make any adjustments.

Tachometer

The tachometer is a gauge that measures how many revolutions per minute the engine is making. This information can be helpful in diagnosing problems with the engine and making sure it’s running at the correct speed.

Installation Tips

Once you’ve decided which gauges you want to install, it’s time to get started on the installation process. Here are a few tips:

Make sure you have all of the necessary supplies within reach so that there are no delays in installing them.

If possible, try to do this with a friend who can help because doing it alone will take longer and could result in mistakes being made during installation.

Plan ahead by getting everything ready beforehand such as removing any obstructions or covering up any parts that might get scratched during installation.

If you need help, approach an automotive repair shop for assistance. They’ll be able to help you choose and fit aftermarket gauges.
