Getting Your First Pickup Truck? Avoid These Errors! (Part 2)

In part 1, I talked about the common errors that people do with their first pickup truck such as installing a lift, adding incorrect rims and tires, putting bed cap, and so on. Today, I shall continue on another batch of the usual mistakes.

GIVING A DAILY CLEANUP

Your truck probably does a lot of things for you like carrying whatever you had to deliver to another city. Perhaps, surf boards you took the past week with your family. Whatever you did for sure, your car needs a good cleaning every time. Cleaning protects the paint of your pickup against rust and stubborn stains.red 4-door truck on mud near trees under cloudy sky

CREATING A MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

If you want your pickup truck to have a long life span, creating a maintenance schedule is a must. It will make sure that your vehicle will always be in top shape and with great gas mileage.

DISREGARDING THE WARNING LIGHTS

Always be mindful of the warning lights on your dashboard. If not, it may result to little problems that eventually blow up to bigger ones. Remember, they are there for a reason, and that is to be indicators that there is something that needs to be fixed in your truck.

DELAYING ON SMALL REPAIRS

Pay attention to the warning signs and make sure you follow your maintenance schedule. A minor problem may look negligible at first but eventually, it can become a huge problem. It is a good idea to do something about small repairs right away. That will save you more money in the long run.

LEAVING YOUR VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE FOR QUITE SOME TIME

For people who owns more than one car, they tend to use another car over the other. However, this ain’t good if the pickup gets left behind. For one, the gas could be stale. The tires could likewise have a flat spot and the battery might no longer work. What can be done is to drive your vehicle once in a while. That should keep your vehicles healthy.

ABANDONING THE WARRANTY

With the warranty, there are some particular repairs and maintenance that are given for free. If you want to add something to your truck, will it jeopardize the warranty? Check and verify first before you add other components.

 TAKE NOTE OF RECALLS

There are so many components in creating a complex machine so sometimes there are errors on the manufacturer’s side. When this occurs, the company will have to do a recall for truck owners to go the dealer to have the machine repaired.

PAY ATTENTION TO SMALL CRACKS AND CHIPS

Driving your vehicle with a small windshield break can mean a penalty or a fine. Fix it while the damage is just little rather than changing the entire windshield.
